Cross-Cultural Convergences

Where ancient practice converges across independent cultures, and where modern biochemistry explains the mechanism, the agreement is taken seriously as evidence for genuine efficacy rather than coincidence.

The Convergence Principle

Independent empirical optimization by different cultures over long timeframes:

  • Cannot access each other's knowledge (geographically isolated for key periods)
  • Faces the same selection pressure (health outcomes from food choices)
  • Converges on the same solutions

When this convergence occurs, two explanations are possible:
